Dedicating ourselves to producing sustainable streetwear for urban cyclists is about respect for our stakeholders. As a brand producing sustainable fashion, it is our belief that designs with cycling at their heart will attract those who care about how their clothes are made. Because of this, we strive for transparency in every aspect of our brand, from measuring the CO2 footprint of each product to sharing the working conditions and processes at Evolution, the factory where SV clothes are developed and assembled. We are proud of the journey we have undertaken and want to share our achievements and challenges with you. We invite you to be a part of this adventure.
To this end we partner with ProductDNA, a Swiss-based company specializing in supply chain transparency and product traceability. Since 2005 they have traced more than 60 million products, and we are able to control our product chain through their traceability system using Respect-code. The CO2 calculator from ProductDNA is based on various steps, from the carbon footprint of the raw material production to the final distribution of garments, following all the manufacturing steps from fiber production to spinning, knitting/weaving, dyeing, finishing and assembling to transport and distribution. You can see where and who made your clothes by using the QR code on the care label.
Aside from our ambition to be known for why and how we make our clothes, we also advocate for women's empowerment, workers rights and living wages. In addition to vocational trainings and private health coverage, our factory also works together with the Fair Wear Foundation, a non-profit organization that brings together brands, factories, trade unions, NGOs and governments to verify and improve labor conditions in 11 production countries across Asia, Europe and Africa. The goal is to do the best that we can in every aspect of our business.
Once the basics are taken care of, what's next? Well for us, we added our own perks at Evolution such as acupuncture and massage, a juice bar, and even relaxation treatments. Because it's not just our work, it's our life! It is critical for companies to set new standards in the garment industry, an industry whose problems are well documented. We support forward-thinking policies because it is the right thing to do, and we challenge garment makers in every continent to follow our example.
